In addition to the Structural Funds there is a wide variety of transnational EU programmes that also aim at promoting employment, integration and social innovation as well as fighting poverty and social exclusion. Simultanously, these programmes contribute to intensifying interaction within Europe and promote the exchange of good practice and experience across borders.

Under the national ESF programme „XENOS – Integration und Vielfalt“ (XENOS – Integration and Diversity) projects against exclusion and discrimination are implemented. The programme targets in particular young people and adults, whose access to education, training and the labour market is restricted. Funded activities include measures agains xenophobia, antisemitism and discrimination, in particular in the activity fields "companies", "administration", "training", "school" and "qualification".
